Miniature Photogaphy Part 1

My son, Devansh, is 2 years and 3 months old now. He's been crazy about cars much before he turned 2. And not only cars, he loves just about all kinds of vehicles. Even while travelling he would point out at cars, trucks, cranes, excavators, and trains in an excited manner.

When I was a kid even I loved to play with cars so I can understand why Devansh loves cars so much. Since I feel I didn't get enough cars to play with in my childhood days—I don't think I had more than 2 at a time :), I feel I'm trying to relive my childhood by frequently buying new toy cars for Devansh. He loves to carry his favorite cars everywhere with him and does not like to share them with other kids. He always wants their cars though. :-|

Here in this post I've shared photos of some of Devansh's cars, which I used to practice miniature photography. This is the first part of the experiment and will share some more soon. Trying to get the effect of decreased depth of field at the highest magnification using 2-3 objects. As of now the experiment continues....

  1. Very cool, my friend. I loved little cars when I was a kid, too, and had several of them, including some pickup trucks. My parents had a rug with a border around it and that become my road and I'd set up boxes for houses and garages and drive me little cars around for hours.

That first shot looks almost like a real car.
