Birds in Mumbai: Part 1

Most commonly found but exotic looking bird in Mumbai. My Favorite
I've been trying my hand on Bird Photography since past few weekends after I got my Canon SX50 HS Camera. Most of it was done near my house in Deonar, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Some were captured at a Park in Vashi, New Mumbai and the rest were found at Aksa Beach Mumbai. More information and Pictures below:

Will soon again venture out to some new location in Mumbai to capture more species of birds seen in Mumbai. Some of these places are:

  • Lokhandwala Lake, Andheri
  • Talawe, Palm Beach Road, New Mumbai
  • Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali East
  • Mahim/Maharashtra Nature Park, Dharavi

  3. you need better arsenal.. big lenses if you seriously want to shoot birds or wildlife .. i used to shoot with a 170 -500 mm tamron .. but than sold it off and stick to people photography..

    1. Thanks Firoze ji. I absolutely agree with you about the gear. I do plan to upgrade to DSLR with one of those super-zoom lenses meant for wildlife and bird photography but, till the time I can actually do it, I'm just trying to get my basics correct and also studying the behavior of these birds :-) In a way trying to stay close to nature ...
