You saw in one of my earlier posts, the birds at Aksa beach located in Malad, Mumbai. This post is more about the people at the beach, the sand, the water... well all in all the beach itself. Since it was a Sunday a lot of people were present at the beach with small kids playing in the sand and water and a little older kids playing cricket on the beach. There was also a small group, assuming they were from a Photography institute or a workshop with 2 models dressed for Indian Classical dance form called Bharatnatyam. The two models were posing and the photographers with the camera were experimenting with their cameras taking shots at various angles and perspectives. Well, my friend Bharat and I too tried to click a few snaps albeit without any permission from the group (Read the disclaimer below).
We also noticed that despite many warnings and drowning incidences, some people just don't understand and go for swimming. If you googled for Aksa beach and reached this blog post, please do make note that Aksa is one of the MOST DANGEROUS beaches for swimming so even if you do enter the water, don't go too far. The sand keeps on shifting and the currents are very strong.

some amazing photographs Kalpesh! and i am sure, many are not aware of the fact that it's a dangerous beach for swimming. it would be really helpful for those who are planning to go there.
ReplyDeleteYep! People should know about the risk in order to avoid it :-)
Deletesuperb clicks , very good stuff
ReplyDeleteThanks...
DeleteNice pics Kalpesh
ReplyDeleteThanks :-)
DeleteWonderful set of images.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt used to be such a tranquil, unfrequented beach. I am put off by the rowdy crowd these days. 'Water between the sand dunes' is a beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Even my friend an I encountered a few men who despite their age had got no maturity.
DeleteOne of them started hitting the crab with his footwear for no reason. Those were some nasty idiots.
Sunday only would be the best day if you're planning to go there alone or in a small number.
life and patterns :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteThat water and sand is excellent. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you got some wonderful candid shots of kids and kids with their parents. Love the color treatment you gave some of them. Lots of artsy photos, too, which I like. The last ones with the reflections are superb.
ReplyDeleteBut it sounds like you have some really stupid people as we do. They seem to be challenged by signs suggesting that it might be too dangerous to swim. What ya gonna do?
